Ada Babbs, 90, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at her daughters home in Princeton, KY.
She was born on July 18, 1923 in Madisonville, KY to the late Margaret and Robert Stroud. She attended Fellowship Temple Church in Madisonville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Celester Parkest; her second husband, Roy Babbs, Sr.; her daughter, Nora Jane Parkest Lee; four brothers; five sisters; her granddaughter, Sandra Marie Lee Smith; and her great-grandson, Clarence Virge.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Judy) Parkest, Donnie (Lu Ann) Parkest both of Madisonville, Ronnie (Gale) Parkest of Slaughters, KY and Kenneth (Janice) Parkest of Hanson, KY; her daughters, Brenda Lee of Manitou, KY, Betty (Gene) Rickard of Hanson and Rebecca (Jerry) Blackburn of Princeton; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Gene Rickard officiating and Bro. Frank Cotton assisting. Burial to follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Parkest, David Rickard, George Petitt, Hank Knowles, Josh Forehand and Jerome Rickard. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Hawkins and Brandon Blackburn.
