William Wayne Parkest, 75, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at his home.

He was born on January 12, 1941 in Madisonville to the late Ada Stroud Parkest Babbs and Celester Parkest. Wayne was a coal miner for Ziegler Coal Company and was owner and operator of Parkest Body Shop. He attended Salem Primitive Baptist Church. In his spare time he loved working puzzles and enjoyed going to yard sales.

He was truly loved and will be deeply missed by the family of Judy Uzzle.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Nora Jane Parkest Lee and daughter-in-law, Carol Parkest.

Survivors include his fiancee, Judy Uzzle of Madisonville; son, Timothy Wayne Parkest of Madisonville; daughter, Shelia Lamarr of Madisonville; sisters and brothers, Brenda Lee of Manitou, KY, Donnie Parkest of Madisonville, Ronnie Parkest and wife, Gail of Slaughters, KY, Betty Rickard and husband, Gene of Hanson, KY, Kenneth Parkest of Hanson and Rebecca Blackburn and husband, Jerry of Princeton, KY; grandchildren, Scott Schroader, Hailey Parkest, Matthew Parkest, Katheryn Lamarr and Charity Phillips; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Kenneth Blevins officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
