Services Held Monday For Former Resident

William J. Puhrmann, 75, a resident of 3 Cedar Terrace, Charles City, died Thursday evening at the Salisbury Baptist Home where he had been a resident for the past three years. Funeral services for William J. Puhrmann were held Monday in the Hauser Funeral Home. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

William John Puhrmann was born Dec. 10, 1898, at Paullina, the son of Martin and Johanna Gertz [Giertz] Puhrmann. He attended parochial school and high school at Paullina. The Puhrmanns moved to the Charles City area in 1929 and Puhrmann went to work at the Oliver Corp. He married Fyrne Hodgdon on May 14, 1919, at Le Mars.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Merlyn (Gwen) Koehler, Charles City; a son, Bradley, Phoenix, Ariz. and two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Francis) Sylvester, Charles City, and Mrs. Martha Stover, Sioux Center. There are four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister.
