Walter O. Marolf , 79 of Greenwood, widower of Helen E., died Wednesday (10/22/97). Born in Greenwood. Retired farmer. Graduate of Greenwood High School, 1937. Member Greenwood United Methodist Church, Pomegranate Lodge 110, A.F.&A.M. of Waverly, Sesostris Temple of the Shrine, Scottish Rite, and Eastern Star. Board member: Greenwood Coop for 27 years and the Greenwood School Board. Former mayor of Greenwood. Rode bicycle built-for-two in Shrine parades. Worked to prevent dam on Lower Platte River, late 1960s. Survivors: son &, daughter-in-law, Richard and Janice Marolf of Lincoln; daughters & sons-in-law, Anna and Tom Jamrog of Waverly and Meg and George Haessler of Sperry, IA; 9 grandchildren; 3 greats; and a great-great-granddaughter; brother & sister-in-law, Glen and Irene Marolf of Lincoln; sisters & brother-in-law, Mary Skapski of Milton, VT, and Cherry and Bruce Gocken of Fremont; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Richard and Virginia King of Phoenix; nieces; nephews; friends. Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Minnie (Atkinson) Marolf; twin brother, Wayne Marolf. Services at Greenwood United Methodist Church in Greenwood. Burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.
