Emma Reets Holbert was the fourth child and second daughter born to Hezekiah Holbert and Mary Augusta Bowen.

Emma was one of seven children and had an older brother, Robert Conkling Holbert (1871-1944), and older sister, Mary Estelle Holbert (1873-1915), and an older brother, Edward Bowen Holbert, Jr (1875-1945) at the time of her birth.

Emma lived for four months and 15 days and died of House and Grave disease according to her burial record.

Emma was buried in Wildwood cemetery on Saturday, June 14th, 1879. Her burial service was done by Christ Episcopal Church in Williamsport, Lycoming, Pennsylvania.
