Ardyce E. Ecker / Wood, age 86, of the Colony Oaks Care Center in Appleton, formerly of Stockbridge, died on Sat. July 29, 2006 at the care center. She was born on March 25, 1920 in Ogdensburg, WI, daughter of the late Larry P. & Hazel (Erickson) Head. She married Gordon Ecker on Nov. 25, 1941, and he preceded her in death in May of 1980. She later married Kenneth Wood, and he also preceded her in death. She was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, and the Christian Mothers. She leaves behind many loving and caring memories, and will be truly missed by those who loved her. Survivors include her children, Lawrence (Mary Ann) Ecker of Stockbridge Nancy Kucksdorf of Appleton; a son-in-law, Robert (JoAnn) Franzen of Stockbridge; 4 grandchildren, Brenda (Duwayne) Nushardt of Stockbridge, Brian (Stacy) Ecker of Darboy, Jim (Sue) Franzen of Fond du Lac, Mike (Tina) Franzen of Stockbridge; 6 great grandchildren, Kevin & Kelsey Nushardt, Isabella & Owen Ecker, Macey & Blake Franzen; a sister, Margaret (Frank) VandenBoom of Appleton; and a nephew, Tom VandenBoom of Appleton. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Betty Franzen and a son-in-law Robert Kucksdorf. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wed. Aug. 2, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. Friends may call at the church from 10 AM until the time of services. Her cremated remains will be buried in the parish cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Ardyce E. Wood. Wieting Family Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family would like to thank Dr. Keli Heindel and the staff of Colony Oaks for the many years of excellent care, and special thanks to Joyce Welland for her many years of companionship and friendship.
