Elizabeth (Betty) Franzen, N4483 Hwy. 55, Chilton, age 41, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 1990 at her home after a five year battle with cancer. She leaves behind many loving and caring memories and will be truly and sadly missed by those who loved her.
She was born November 20, 1948, in Appleton, the daughter of Ardyce Head and the late Gordon Ecker. She attended St. Mary’s School in Stockbridge and graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1967.
She was married on Sept. 30, 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockbridge to Robert Franzen.
The couple celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary. They had resided all of their married lived in the Stockbridge area were Mrs. Franzen was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockbridge, a member of its Christian Mothers and was a former rectory secretary for the parish. She was an active volunteer while her children were students at St. Mary’s, was involved in fund raising, library and also active as a teacher’s aide. She also enjoyed the outdoors, her dog, Rusty, and most truly enjoyed her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her mother, Ardyce Ecker Wood, Menasha; two sons, Senior Airman James Franzen, K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan; Michael Franzen and his special girlfriend, Tina Oakley, Chilton; a sister, Nancy Ecker, Appleton; a brother and sister-in-law; Lawrence and Mary Ann Ecker, Chilton. She was preceded in death by her father.
In accordance with Betty’s wishes her body is being cremated.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockbridge with Revs. Leander Nickel and Dennis Ryan concelebrating the Mass.
