Lawrence "Larry" F Ecker

Lawrence F. “Larry” Ecker, 73, of Chilton, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Lawrence was born September 28, 1942 in Appleton, Wisconsin, son of the late Gordon & Ardyce (Head) Ecker. Larry married Mary Ann Goeser on August 28, 1965 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho; together they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.

Larry was employed for Tecumseh Products for 37 years until his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, sturgeon spearing, cracking hickory nuts, and feeding the birds. He was a caring person always willing to lend a helping hand and could always be recognized by his hearty laugh. Larry especially loved his family and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Brenda (Dwayne) Nushardt; son, Brian (Stacy) Ecker; four grandchildren, Kevin, Kelsey, Isabella and Owen; his sister, Nancy Kucksdorf; brother-in-law, Bob Franzen; two feline companions, Socks and Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Franzen.

Funeral Services will be at 7:00pm on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main Street) in Chilton with Deacon Steve Vande Hey officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Lawrence F. “Larry” Ecker.

Larry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers with Affinity Hospice and the 3rd floor nurses and Dr. Baum at St. Elizabeth Hospital for the care and compassion shown to him. They would also like to show their appreciation to their family and friends for the many prayers and visits over the past week.
