News was received here this week that Haston Tackett, of Staffordsville, was accidently drowned in Trimble county late last Friday afternoon. He was a NYA youth and attended an NYA institute in that county. He and a number of other boys had gone swimming in Bedford Creek when young Tackett got beyond his depth and drowned before he could be rescued. He was about 17 years of age and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Tackett. He is survived by his father and mother, four brothers and five sisters. The body was brought to Staffordsville for funeral and burial. The untimely death of the young man has brought sorrow to his family and the people of Staffordsville.
