Charles H. Johnson, 65, a former Star Valley resident before moving to Bountiful, Utah died Thursday, Aug 19, 1971, in the St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, of natural causes.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug 21 in the Bountiful 39th Ward Chapel, with a number of Star Valley relatives attending. Burial was in Bountiful Memorial Park.
He was born Oct 17, 1905, at Smoot, Wyo., to Charles A. and Anna Olson Johnson. He was married to Elma S. Christiansen Dec 23, 1927 at Salt Lake City and later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.
He was a farmer and sheepman in Star Valley until 1959. Since that time he has resided at 1379 So. 325 E. in Bountiful, Utah.
He was a High Priest in the Bountiful 39th Ward. He served as adult Aaronic Priesthood advisor and home teacher. He was a former board member of the Federal Land Bank Association and was a director of the Dry6 Creek Irrigation Company.
Survivors include his widow; three sons and one daughter; Charles Franklin and Jack LaDell both of Bountiful; Jerry H. of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Mrs Kay M. (LaRue) Crook of Boise, Idaho.
Also surviving are two brothers Orson A., Afton, Wyo.; and Reuben Earl, Smoot, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs George (Irene) Nussbaum, Montpelier, Idaho; and Mrs Elva House, Portland, Ore. Ten grandchildren also survive.
