When but a small child her parents migrated to the United States and came to Kansas at the close of the Civil War in 1864, where they homesteaded on a farm north of Belleville. So, with the exception of living a few years in Iowa and Minnesota, Anna resided most of her life in this area of our country.
Anna was one of a family of 14 children. She received her education in the early rural schools of Kansas.
She united with the Baptist church in 1901, and for some 50 years was an active participating member of her church. She taught Sunday School, and made an emphasis of her Christian work with youth. She was active in the various Women's organizations of the church, and a faithful attendant at church services.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and received her 50 year pin in January 1951.
She leaves to mourn her departure one brother, James Creighton of Belleville; two sisters, Ella Creighton of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Nora Creighton of Belleville, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Belleville First Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 20. Internment was in Belleville cemetery.
