OBITUARY
RETTA M. CHIRI
Retta Chiri was born January 23, 1938 and passed away on September 30, 2011. She was born on a farm near Williamson, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Louise (Montgomery) Briggs.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Eugene Chiri, grandsons, Brandon Allen; Trey Vonn Anthony; parents, Roy and Louise Briggs; sisters, Marilyn Kay Briggs; Jenny Maasen, Darlene Lenoe Mundy; and brother, Gene Briggs.
Survivors include her husband Eugene Chiri of Chariton; children, Bonnie Clark of Chariton; Barbara (Dick) Ross of Garden Grove; Larry (Jill) Chiri of Altoona; Brenda Carroll of Des Moines; Greg (Glenda) Chiri of Indianola; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are sisters, Sandy (Tub) Shriver; Carol Sue (Dave) Forst, all of Williamson; brothers, Roy Jr. (Paulette) Briggs and Larry (Lesta) Briggs of Des Moines, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Retta lived in Williamson almost all of her life until 2007, when she moved to Chariton. Retta loved family get togethers, reading, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
