OWENSBORO MESSENGER INQUIRER OBITUARY – 11/13/1934
Wathen Head, 37 years old, son of City Patrolman J. Leslie Head and Mrs. Head, died at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening [November 12, 1934] at his home In the West Louisville section following a five weeks illness of typhoid fever, complicated by pneumonia. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pauline Hayden Head; seven children, Marietta, Virginia, Ella B., J.M., Hayden Edward, Gene Noel & Bobbie Head; his parents; five sisters, Mrs. H.T. Carden, of Rome, Mrs. J.R. Thompson, St. Louis, Mrs. J.T. Boulware and Miss Gertrude Head, of Louisville, and Miss Edwina Head, of Owensboro. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

The funeral of Wathen Head, 37 years old, son of City Patrolman J. Leslie Head and Mrs. Head, who died at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening [November 12, 1934] at his home in the West Louisville section following a five weeks illness, will be conducted at 9 o'clock this morning from St. Raphael's Catholic church, with services by Rev. John J. Glenn, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The pallbearers will be: Fred Coomes, James Coomes, Anthony Fulkerson, Ambrose Fulkerson, Irvin O'Bryan and Acie Henning. Honorary pallbearers will be: Frank Fogle, J.A. Lashbrook, Ben J. Head, E.V. Boswell, County Judge James R. Wilson and W.S. Knight. Mr. Head had for the last five years been in the employ of the Daviess county road department.
