Obituary, dated September 24, 1914, Daily Picayune, page 8, column 6:

"MARSHALL- On Wednesday, September 23, 1914, at 7 o'clock a.m., BERTHA MARSHALL, a native of Texas and a resident of this city for seventeen years.

The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will take place in Cuero, Texas."

Obituary, dated September 26, 1914, Galveston Daily News:

"MARSHALL - Cuero, Texas, September 23, 1914, Mrs. L.A. Marshall, who was formerly Miss Bertha Flick of this city, died at her home in New Orleans, Wednesday morning, following a lingering illness. She was a sister of R.C. Flick, president of the Cuero Commercial Club, and Mrs. H.J. Alvina Flick, wife of Henry Joseph Lienhard) Lienhard of this city. The body was brought here and following services at the Catholic Church. Interment was made at the Hillside Cemetery, Thursday."

Bertha Flick married Lawrence Alexander Marshall November 30, 1895 in Cuero, Texas. They lived in New Orleans until the death of Bertha in 1914. Later on, Lawrence Marshall married Elizabeth Leona North Flick, the widow of Bertha's brother, August Henry Flick.
