Hannah Elizabeth Hansen, the daughter of Eric and Sidsel Marie Madsen Jorgensen, was born on her parents' farm in Douglas Township, Audubon County, Iowa on February 18, 1908 and died August 14, 1999 at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 27 days.

She was baptized in her parents' home and confirmed in 1922 at the Danish Lutheran Church in Audubon. She attended country school through the ninth grade.

On December 27, 1927, she was united in marriage to S. Herbert Hansen at the Danish Lutheran Parsonage in Audubon. They made their home in Oelwin, Iowa for a short time before returning to Audubon. She was very dedicated to her family and friends. Hannah enjoyed being a homemaker. Herb died on September 12, 1991. She lived in her own home until she became a resident of the Friendship Home in Audubon in September of 1996.

She was preceded in death by her husband, S. Herbert Hansen, her daughter Ardis; and infant son; great-grandchildren: Miranda Rasmussen, Daniel and Emily Harrison; her parents; her brother and sisters: H.P. Jorgensen and his wife Carrie; Anna Laurtisen; Lena Lauritsen and her husband Bennie; and her sister-in-law, Irene Jorgensen.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Ron Rasmussen of Audubon; her grandchildren: Nickoleen and her husband Edward M. Wiederstein of Audubon; Pheobe and her husband John Yencic, III of Overland Park, KS; Dirk and his wife Julie Rasmussen of Hamlin, IA; Jennifer and her husband Ed Harrison of Kansas City, MO; and Sara and her husband Bruce Rabun of Lone Tree, CO; her great-grandchildren: Anne, Ryan, David, and Betsy Wiederstein; Jerica, Danika, Jim and Caleb Rasmussen, Melissa and Elise Harrison; and Travis and Emma Rabun; her brother George Jorgensen; her foster sister Alvera Wiemann, both of Audubon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers: Doug Jorgensen, Franklin Jorgensen, H.P. Jorgensen, Jr., Dale Lauritsen, Edward Laurtisen, and Virgil Lauritsen.
