George Andrew Hendrix was the son of Jonas E & Rhoda (Barr) Hendrix. He had three (3) sisters; Sarah A., Nancy E., and Dora E.; and one (1) brother, William Riley Hendrix.

George migrated from Wayne County, Tennessee with his family some time between 1883 and 1892 to the area around Hackett, Sebastian County, Arkansas.

George first married Nancy Jane "Jennie" Hendricks, daughter of George Wilkerson & Mary Elizabeth (Barbrick) Hendricks of Mississippi Township, Sebastian County, Arkansas. They had five (5) children; Kate Lucy, George Ervin, Mary Eula, Anna Inez, and Daniel Hill Hendrix.

After Nancy Jane passed 12 Jul 1908 leaving George with 5 children ages 1-11 years of age, George then married Martha Elizabeth Kuykendall, daughter of Simon & Oella (Nall) Kuykendall. They had 7 children; Pearl O., Ruby A., Georgia Helen, Ola Rhoda, Leona Winfred, Otto Andrew, and Lucille Lavelle Hendrix.

George was an expert pistol shot. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Le Flore County, Oklahoma after 1910
