Chester Abbott Caldwell, Jr., 84, a lifelong resident of Blytheville, passed from this life Wednesday, January 30, 2013.
Mr. Caldwell was born on September 18, 1928 in Blytheville to Chester Abbott and Ruth Hughes Caldwell.
Mr. Caldwell was a graduate of Blytheville High School and Duke University. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity, a veteran of the Korean War and retired as a Major in the United States Air Force.
He spent his entire working career as a farmer and cotton ginner and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his wife, Doris Bean Caldwell, of the home; daughters, Catherine Caldwell Canale of Memphis, TN and Constance Caldwell Walker of Montgomery, AL; son, Chester Abbott Caldwell, III of Abilene, TX; grandsons, Zachary David Caldwell and Samuel Abbott Caldwell, both of Abilene, TX and James Edward Walker, IV of Montgomery, AL and brother, Daniel Huffman Caldwell of Blytheville, AR.
Graveside services will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00pm in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Steve Baillio will officiate.
