Daniel Huffman Caldwell of Blytheville, peacefully departed this life on July 6, 2020 surrounded by family at the age of 90.

Born and raised in Blytheville to the late Chester Abbott and Ruth Hughes Caldwell, Dan graduated from Blytheville High School and Duke University, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He then served in the Air Force during the Korean War before returning “home”. He was much beloved by his family and the Blytheville community. Dan was an avid sports fan embracing both St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Duke College basketball. He also loved fishing and playing golf. His true passions, however, were his family and the family farm. Dan spent 48 seasons farming alongside his brother Chester Caldwell Jr. Retiring from agriculture in 2002, Dan then obtained his real estate license and joined forces with his wife, Mary Alice “Mame” Caldwell, at Century 21 McWaters Realty, where they worked tirelessly together until her death in 2012. Dan was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mame; brother, Chester; and faithful long-time canine companion Weasel, who accompanied Dan’s every step and truck ride.

He leaves three children, Daniel Caldwell, Jr of Princess Anne, Maryland, Cecilia Wroten Caldwell (Linda) of Maple Glen, Pennsylvania, and Edwin Harmon Caldwell (Karen) of Franklin, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Lydia Ruth and Henry Huffman Caldwell of Pennsylvania and Anna Sophia and Langston Cooper Caldwell of Tennessee.
