He leaves his wife, Ruth Hughes Caldwell;, two sons, Chester Abbott Caldwell, Jr and Dan Caldwell, both of Blytheville; his mother, Mrs. Della Caldwell of Blytheville; two sisters, Mrs. Essie Lendennie and Mrs. Lagrone Whittle, both of Blytheville; a brother, Hershel Caldwell of Durham, N.C. and two grandchildren.
