Mrs. Lucinda Tinder Dies at Kirklin Home

Mrs. Lucinda Tinder, 76, died at her home in Kirklin yesterday afternoon at 2:15 after an illness of one year. Death was attributed to complications.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Kirklin Methodist Church with the Revs. Riley and Rice officiating. Burial will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Tinder was born in Kirklin Township, September 16, 1865, the daughter of Elizabeth and Travis Stowers. On January 18, 1882, she was united in marriage to Christopher Payne, who precedes her in death. In December 1919, she married O. P. Tinder, who survives her.

Surviving besides the husband are the following children by her first marriage: Mrs. Bertha Bogan of Frankfort; Mrs. Cora McDonald, Mrs. Nora Pittenger, Mrs. Betty Thomas, and Mrs. Maude Bishop, all of Kirklin. Other survivors are Vella Howard, of Kirklin, and Riley Tinder of California, step-children of the deceased.

Mrs. Tinder joined the Kirklin Methodist Church in 1902 and until recently was an active member of the organization. Her son, Paul, is the football coach at Kirklin High School.
