James Baxter, aged 66 years, died at his home in Benton Wednesday evening. He had been in poor health for some time. Mr. Baxter was an old resident of this community. He was the owner of the land on which the famous Baxter mine was located.
He was preceded to the grave by his wife and two daughters. He leaves four surviving sons. The funeral will be held Friday morning from St. Patrick's Church.
