Mr. Adams, a Pitt County native, had been a lifelong resident of Grimesland. He retired from East Carolina University Maintenance Department. He is survived by his: wife of 48 years, Pauline Adams; sons, Gary Wayne Adams and wife, Rhonda, and Timothy Wayne Adams and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Amy Kennedy, Ashley Cook, Courtney Hodges, Kristen Adams, Bailey Adams, Aaron Adams, Brandon Gardner, and TJ Gardner; great-grandchildren, Melanie, Kyler, Kaleb, Payton, Ashlyn, and Alyssa; brothers, Jimmy Ray Adams and wife, Janice, and Henry Adams; and a sister, Annie Ree Hardy. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
