He was survived by his wife Sybil Warren Adams, son Kenneth Earl; daughter, Teresa Edwards; stepchildren, Michael Braxton, Randy Braxton, Danny Braxton, Steven Braxton, and Diane Braxton, Shirley Smith, and Sharon Fisher; grandson, Bobby Adams; sister, Annie Rea Hardy; brother, Jimmie Ray Adams, Jackie Wayne Adams, and Henry "Dobbie" Adams; 12 step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.
