Charles E. Chittum, age 84, died September 24, 1984 at his home. He was retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway Company.
Surviving are his wife , Mrs. Nannie Tyler Chittum, five daughters, Mrs. Brenda Adcock, Mrs. Mary Hall and Mrs. Virginia Clark, all of Buena Vista; Mrs. Ethel Louise Blankenship amd Mrs. Nancy Lee Hall of Lexington; four sons Ralph Chittum, Lynchburg, Charles H. Chittum, Vesuvius; Leonard Chittum and Ronnie Chittum, both of Buena Vista; one brother, Sylvester Chittum, Buena Vista, twenty-three grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.Lomax Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
