OLATHE- Jesse Pirtle, 68, Olathe, died Saturday, May 29, 1993, at the Olathe Medical Center. He was born Nov.7, 1924, in Lawton, Okla. to James Claud Pirtle and Anna Jewell Patterson. He attended East Plains Grade School and Roswell High School, graduating in May 1944. He entered the Navy in May 1944 and was stationed at the Olathe Naval Air Station. He retired from the Navy as a master chief petty officer in November 1967 at New Orleans. He was a mechanic at TWA from 1968 to 1990 when he retired. He was married March 24, 1946, to Margaret Louise McConnell. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, James W. Pirtle, Olathe; two daughters, Margaret Ann Shapley and Diana Jean Holland, both of Olathe; three brothers, Gerald Pirtle Firebaugh, California, Ray Rockow, El Paso, Texas, and Ira Pirtle, Roswell, N.M.; three sisters, Phyllis Smith, Marie Tucker and Ivalene Shannon, all of Roswell, N.M.; three granddaughters; and four step-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe. Burial will follow in the Olathe City Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
