Mineral Point- Raymond and Vera Armstrong will mark their 50th wedding anniversary with a family gathering. Armstrong and the former Vera Richardson were married April 10, 1940. They have two daughters, Rosalie May, Mineral Point, and Brenda Johnson, Shullsburg. They have six grandchildren.

Willow Springs Township/ Darlington- Raymond H. Armstrong, age 89, of rural Darlington, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his home on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002. He was born on Oct. 15, 1913, in Willow Springs township, Wis., to George and Nellie (Brisenham) Armstrong. He farmed on the Armstrong homestead all of his life. He married the former Vera May Richardson on April 10, 1940, at St. John's Catholic Church in Spring Green. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Monsignor Doyle Knights of Columbus Council No. 1080.
Survivors include his wife, Vera; his daughters, Rosalie (Richard) May of Mineral Point, and Brenda (Larry) Johnson of Shullsburg; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren; his sister, Gladys Taylor of Darlington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, George, Harland, Walter, Willie, and John; and four sisters, Myrtle Whalen, Mabel Whalen, Eva Anschutz and Clara Armstrong.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Darlington, with Monsignor Delbert Schmelzer officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm on Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, with a Knights of Columbus and parish rosary at 7 pm at Steil Camacho Funeral Home, Darlington.
