LONE ROCK — Mable H. Whalen, age 83, of Lone Rock, died on Wednesday, October 28, 1992, at Green way Manor, Spring Green. She was born on September 18, 1909, in Willow Springs, Lafayette County, the daughter of George and Nellie (Brisenhan) Armstrong. She was married on September 11, 1929, in Rockford, Illinois, to Stephen H. Whalen, who preceded her in death on July 5, 1970. Survivors include two sons, Stephen and Thomas Whalen of Lone Rock, WI; seven daughters, Mary Long of Stoughton, WI, Eunice Whalen of Miami, FL, Anna Whalen of Dodgeville, WI, Maxine Whalen of Madison, WI, Virginia (Robert) Brantmeyer of Madison, WI, Donna (William) O'Donnell of Lone Rock, WI and Martha (Gary Watchke) Whalen of Madison, WI; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Whalen of Darlington, WI and Gladys Taylor of Darlington, WI; two brothers, George (Delores) Armstrong of Darlington, WI and Raymond (Vera) Armstrong of Darlington, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Katherine. A Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 1992, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, Lone Rock. Father Bogdan Werra will officiate. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Darlington. Friends may call on Friday, October 30, 1992, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the LUNENSCHLOSS - HANSEN FUNERAL HOME, Rlchland Center, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be Saturday from 9:30 until time of the funeral mass.
