Bio

Born and raised in Darlington Wisconsin. My fathers family has resided in Lafayette County since the 1850's. My mothers side of the family immigrated from Switzerland in the 1920's. My dad's family is Irish, Scottish and English. My revolutionary ggggrandfathers who immigrated from Wales and England ended up in Clearfield & Centre county Pennsylvania. Their descendants moved to Iowa and Wisconsin. I love the mystery of searching for my ancestors. Feel free to copy any of the pictures I take. I take them to help others who are researching their ancestry. If I have added someone that is not my direct ancestor I am always willing to transfer. Thank you!

*Interesting notes Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington was once called St. Mary's Catholic Church as early as 1883 to early 1900's.
*Shullsburg was once spelled Shullsburgh in the 1860's.
*An outbreak of Diphtheria occurred in Lafayette county in 1861 killing many children under the age of 8.
*An outbreak of Diphtheria occurred again in late 1890 and early 1891 in Lafayette County. Also in Mineral Point, Wis.
*1837 Terrible panic financial crisis
*1854 Asiatic cholera was raging in South Wayne and most likely Lafayette County
*1876-1877 Scarlet fever outbreak in Lafayette County
Reference to burial in Cherry Branch is East Wiota Lutheran Church Cemetery
