WWI VETERAN

Leo served with the U.S. Army during World War I. He enlisted on July 27, 1918 at age 19.

Obit: Leo D. Tessier, 44, of 6601 McKinley Ave., died Thursday in a local hospital. Born in Minnesota he came to Tacoma 35 years ago and for 22 years was employed by the Tacoma Transit Company as a driver. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Motor Coach Employees Local 758. Surviving are his wife, Jane; a son, Pvt. Raymond Tessier of the USAF; three daughters, Betty Jane, Gloria and Shirley; a brother, J.A. Tessier, and three sisters, Mrs. E. G. Rinkenberger, Mrs. Frank Cooney and Mrs. R. G. Roberts, all of Tacoma. Gaffney will announe the funeral service. (Tacoma News Tribune, 27 Aug 1943).
