Leonard passed away at home, surounded by his family
Leonard was the son of Edna & Everett Beeson. He grew up in the Forest Grove community. He attended grade school at Forest Grove & Oak Ridge, then graduated from Cassville High School in 1941. After high school Leonard followed the wheat harvest in KS & CO, then went to OR to work in the logging industry. From Nov 1942 - Jan 1946. He served in the US Navy as a signalman aboard the USS Custer, a troop transport in the Pacific Theater of WWII. He later spent 45 years at Forest Products Inc. He was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church.

On 26 Dec 1948 in Exeter, Leonard married Dortha Pilant. Also preceding him were siblings Betty Jewel & Laurance plus brothers-in-law Ray Harris & Earl Lyall.

Surviving are children: Lynna Marie Spellman w/husband Dave, David, Richard w/wife Jacqueline, Timothy, Steven w/wife Marilyn, & Sarah Marney w/husband Tim; grandkids: Michael Spellman, Laura Spellman Mendell w/husband John, Emily Spellman Hutton w/husband, Neal, Lena Spellman, Dima Spellman, Brian Beeson, Chris Beeson w/wife Stephanie, Janell Beeson Coones, Simon Beeson, Jennifer Marney Privett w/husband Donald; 13 great-grandkids. Siblings: Noble Beeson w/wife Kathleen, Mrs. Mildred Harris, Mrs. Dorothy Lyall & Mrs. Eunice Moreno w/husband Joe; sister-in-law Mrs. Alma Beeson, his longtime friend Louise Brooks; plus many close cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.

Dr. Leland May conducted the services w/military honors.
