Transfers: I will transfer ownership to direct descendants within four generations - the same as Find A Grave guidelines. Otherwise, I'm happy to add to memorials and make links, just click on the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial.|
One line of my ancestors (CROSE) lived in Tippecanoe Co., IN in the 1820s. Some of their cousins lived in the next county to the south, Boone, and some south of that in Hendricks Co. I have taken photos mostly in Boone and Hendricks, including the older, more difficult to read stones. Hopefully, these photographs will be around longer than the headstones. Many are on the verge of not being readable - even with the sun at a good angle and using tricks to bring out the text.
Since I've been doing genealogy research for a number of years, I can see a real benefit in seeing headstones, rather than relying on a transcription. To me, the important thing is to be able to read the inscription (names & dates, child of ...), but not really the verse below it. It's also important to know who is buried next to who. I'll mention that if I notice a connection.
Cemeteries that are completed - meaning that I photographed everything and have posted all that was readable. Other transcriptions may have more names.
Beck - Bethel (Boone Co.) - Bethel (52nd St Indy) - Beth-El Zeck - Browns Wonder - Jones - Lowry -Macedonia - Mintonye
- Mt Union -Mt. Zion - North Branch
- Oak Hill (Sect 1-30, 34N & 34S)
- Plainview (Colfax) - Pleasant Hill (Indy)
- Pleasant View (Dover) - Poplar Grove
- Prebster - Old Union Church - Richland - Robison - St. Malachy West - Salem - Sparks - Taylor - Trotter (I can only find 33 of the 64 markers) - Weaver - Zionsville
I currently use a 10M Canon Powershot camera which will take pictures at 3648 x 2736 pixels. Normally I reset the resolution to 2272 x 1704 and then on the computer, especially with worn headstones, I turn up the contrast 20-30%, and lower the brightness 5-10% and keep the compression at 98 to 99%. When I started posting for Find a Grave, the photo file size limit was 250 KB, then 350, 500, 750, 2000 3000 and now 8000 KB. I use photo editing software that I downloaded for free - it's much better than what Canon or Olympus gives you with their camera. With Photoscape I know the file size before I save the file.

Hi Marc, I was doing some follow-up on pics in the area and noticed when I went to insert the pic that you have a memorial for Inez Ross as well. You have the burial site as Greenwood Mennonite. The correct burial site is St Johns Cemetery, R36 just north of SR16, on the west side of roadway. Her husband Ernest is also buried there.
A memorial was entered by Corey & Douglas Marshall #147026944 back in 2013. I have attached my photos to that site.
Can you remove your memorial since it is a duplicate and has the wrong cemetery, Please!!
|Thomas||RE: Thomas Hicklin McNabb|
I believe his mother's maiden name is Hicklin, so it very well could be correct. I have not found any records suggesting a middle name, so I wondered about your sources. I would not recommend that you change it based on my question--I do not pretend to be especially knowledgeable about this Thomas McNabb. Thanks for writing back, though.

|GBern.O||Lincoln Michael Doty|
Received this yesterday in my email.
I would have sent this via email but didn't see one listed.
You have Linciln Michael Doty buried in White Chapel Cemetery and died in Brookings SD. This infirmation is incorrect.
The Lincoln Michael Doty that is buried in White Chapel Cemetery is my stillborn grandson that was born/died 9/9/17 in Kansas City MO.
YOU people who take it upon yourself to post these things should really make sure you have all your facts straight. I am requesting you make corrections or take this down. You have no idea how much this has upset this babys parents.

Would to make a correction to her memorial, since she is my mother. There are duplicate memorials of her father, Walter Fancler. You have selected one I made, but the other one is much more detailed. Also, the person that made it has just passed over ownership of that memorial. So I'm deleting my memorial, to lessen the confusion. The memorial to change to is Walter Fancler, number 91419830.

bought a camera at Goodwill in Canton. Found about 230 pic's on memory card. In one of them there is a old gentleman wearing a tux holding a award (looks like a Knight of Columbus)if you are related or know who is I can copy to disc & return.

Thank you for your response back to me. I had found the new paper clipping death notice online of James ''Jimmy'' Skinner. And I had found out that they were related to one another. Sorry, if I had bother you with this question. Have a safe, and blessed Sunday!! Take Care, Elva.
