Funeral services were held Wednesday evening, Dec. 23, for Andrew g. Anderson at 8 p.m. from the Albin Funeral Chapel in Minneapolis with Rev. Iverson officiating; and from the Grace Lutheran church in Brandon on Thursday, Dec. 24 at 1 p.m. with Rev. C. P. Thronson of Osakis officiating.
Andrew Gustaf Anderson, popularly known as Gust, was born at Momence, Ill., on August 19, 1892, the son of Andrew and Emma Anderson. While still a young boy, together with his parents, brothers and sisters, he moved to Lund township near Evansville, where they farmed until moving to Moe township, south of Brandon, a few years later, where he lived and grew to manhood.
On Oct. 16, 1920 he was united in marriage to Agnes Gertrude Foslien. to this union three daughters and one son were born. The early part of their married life was spent in Brandon, where he was employed at Hoplin Hardware, and later going into construction work for himself. In 1937, the family moved to Osakis. Here Mr. Anderson opened his own plumbing business and resided in Osakis until a year ago when he moved to Minneapolis, where he was employed.
He submitted to surgery at Fairview Hospital on Monday, Dec. 14, and passed away on Saturday morning, Dec. 19, at the age of 61 years.
He leaves to mourn: his wife, Agnes, and the following children: Mrs. Leland Gray of Richfield, Mrs. Cal Jones of San Diego, Calif., Ardis of Minneapolis, and Alfred of the U. S. Army, Fort Lewis, Wash, also five granddaughters, one sister, Mrs. Carl Fredrickson of Farwell, three brothers, Oscar and Clarence Anderson of Brandon, and August Anderson of Moe township. One brother, Alfred, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Christenson of Brandon preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Frank Foslien, theodore Foslien, of West Moe, John Gunderson of Alexandria, Carl Nelson, Ben Cobert and Oscar Johnson of Osakis. Interment was made in the Brandon cemetery.
