Bloomfield, known as Bloom, was born on May 30, 1874 in Rome, New York, the 8th of 10 living children of Paul & Mary (Bellman) Bernhard. He had eight brothers & two sisters. He moved to Cleveland with his family in Sept. 1879.
Bloom was 32 when he married Gretchen Kuebler on Oct. 3, 1906. They were married by a Rev. C. W. Weiss. Bloom was a merchant in the hardware business.
He and Gretchen did not have any children. They were married 55 years before his death and were living at 18100 Landseer Rd. in Cleveland where he died on April 8, 1961 at the age of 86 from heart failure due to arterio sclerosis.
He is buried in the Chapel Entrance, Crypt Q of Knollwood Mausoleum in Mayfield Hts., Ohio along with his wife Gretchen who died June 22, 1973 -- 12 years after Bloom.
