Joe first married Katherine about 1885 in Cleveland who was 42 years old when she died on May 15, 1907 after about 22 years of marriage. They had no children.
Joe then married Ida Mae Porter (who had been divorced twice) on Feb. 27, 1910 in Cleveland at the age of 43. They were living at 2556 E. 55th St. at the time. Ida died in 1939 after 29 years of marriage and Joe then married Hannah Baker sometime after 1939 as she signed his death certificate and was listed in his obit. Joe was a retired detective with the Cleveland Police Force.
Joe was living at 751 Dover Rd. in Westlake when he died at home on Sept. 16, 1943 at the age of 77. Hannah was 43 years old when Joe died. He was the stepfather of five.
He suffered from arteriosclerosis and hypertension for 10 years and had a cerebral hemorrhage on July 20 and died almost two months later from pneumonia. Services were held in the Mausoleum on Mon. Sept 20th.
Joe is buried at Knollwood Cemetery in the Mausoleum - South Chapel Floor, niches 437 and 439 with his second wife Ida. Katherine is buried at Lake View Cemetery with his brother Fred in Sec. 26, lot 151.
