Mrs. Hagood died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Sunbridge Care Center of Decatur. She was born March 23, 1910, in Lawrence County to Ben and Luda Vines Jeffreys. She was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Okolona Baptist Church in Hatton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Newton Hagood.
She is survived by her son, Carlos C. Hagood and his wife, Nancy, of Decatur; three grandchildren, Scott Hagood and his wife, Debbie, of Madison, Dr. Lynn Hagood and his wife, Hallie, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Mary Ann Godwin and her husband, Norman, of Auburn; three stepgrandchildren, Chuck Dinsmore of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Wade Dinsmore and his wife, Brandy, of Talladega and Atlee Dinsmore and his wife, Amanda, of Birmingham; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Nina Lee Lansford of Vincent.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Scott Hagood, Lynn Hagood, Norman Godwin, Wade Dinsmore and Atlee Dinsmore; nephews, Malcolm Walker, Dan Jeffreys, Harold Jeffreys and William Jeffreys.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Smith and Jimmy Hasset.
