Lone Tree -- Dale Burr, 63, and Emily Burr, 64, rural Lone Tree farmers, died Monday of gunshot wounds.
Private services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City with the Rev. Robert Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Mr. Burr was born Oct. 30, 1922 in Lone Tree, a son of Vernon and Hilda Nelson Burr. Mrs. Burr was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Wilton, a daughter of A. J. and Amelia Grunder Wacker. The couple were married Nov. 21, 1945, a Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. They were members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
Survivors include a son, John of Lone Tree: two daughters, Sheila (Mrs. Matt) Ross of Rogers, Ark., and Julia Burr of Eau Claire, Wis.; his mother of West Branch; his sister, Ruth (Mrs. Keith) Forbes of Iowa City; and her sisters, Mrs. Calvin Schmidt of Tipton and Mrs. George McClean of Moline, Ill.
His father and brother and her parents died earlier.
