Shirley Mae McClean, 90, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline; with visitation prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Melpine Cemetery at 3:00 pm, in Wilton, IA.

Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline.

Shirley was born January 24, 1933, in Muscatine, IA, to Arthur and Amelia (Grunder) Wacker. On May 19, 1951, in Wilton, IA, she married George K. McClean, who preceded her in death.

Shirley was a graduate of Wilton High School. She was a homemaker and lifelong member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Shirley enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader of mystery books. She especially enjoyed watching football, both professional & college, and was a Chicago Bears fan.

She leaves behind her daughter, Sandra (Max) Hodges, Springfield, MO, two sons, George (Sandy) McClean, Moline, IL, and Greg (Clara) McClean, Carlyle, IL. She was a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and sisters Marion and Emily.
