Mrs. A. Angel Dies At Home On Cullasaja
Mrs. Addie Angel, wife of Frank Angel, died at her home in the Cullasaja community at 1 p.m., April 28. Mrs. Angel, who had been ill for the past five months, had suffered a stroke of apoplexy the week before. She was 69 years old.
A life-long resident of Macon County, she was the former Miss Addie Sanders. She was a member of Clark's Chapel Methodist church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four daughters, Mrs. Minnie Gibson, Mrs. Helen Gibson, Mrs. Pauline Gibson, and Miss ruth Angel, all of Cullasaja; six sons, Fred, Lex, Joe, Grover, Carey, and John Angel; two sisters, the Misses Callie and Belle Sanders of Prentiss; one brother, Zeb Sanders of Prentiss; and 23 grandchildren.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bethel Methodist church, with the pastor, the Rev. D.P. Grant, officiating, assisted by the Rev. William Sorrells, the Rev. Fred Sorrells, the Rev. Frank Holland, the Rev. Will Swafford, and the Rev. Mr. Scroggs. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Holt, Wymer Gibson, Branson Barrett, Roy Mashburn, Roy Vanhook, and Harley Gibson.
The flower bearers were the Misses Helen Cochran, Pearl Angel, Grace Poindexter, Gladys Angel, Ida Gibson, and Betty Angel.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Potts Funeral Home.
