Helen Gibson, 81, of Franklin, died Thursday, Dec. 2, in a Sylva hospital.
A native of Macon County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Addie Sanders Angel. She was a homemaker and a member of Mashburn Branch Baptist Church, where she had served as Young Adult Training Union Teacher and choir member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis (Pete) Gibson, who died in 1988.
She is survived by one son, Mark Gibson of Franklin, one sister, Ruth Griffin of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 5, in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home. Revs. Erne Sanders and Alton Dendy officiated. Burial was in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Roy Angel, Jody Spradlin, Robert McMahan, Doyle Gibson, Isaac Gibson and Jim Graham served as pallbearers.
