John Lee Angel, 58, of North Trade Street, Tryon, died at his home Saturday morning after a brief illness.
He was a native of Franklin and a World War II veteran. Mr. Angel made his home in Tryon the past eight years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eva Cochran Angel of Lumber City, Ga.; two daughters, Miss Freda Angel of Franklin and Mrs. Margaret Louise Robertson of Alma, Ga.; a son, Frank Angel of Tryon; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Gibson, Mrs. Pauline Gibson, Mrs. Helen Gibson and Mrs. Ruth Griffen, and three brothers, Fred, Carrie and Grover Angel all of Franklin.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in McFarland Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. B.L. Reese officiated. Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Ricky Gosnell, Steve Edwards, Horace Sain, Sam Summey, Jerry Ravan and Bobby Tucker.
