George "June" Austin Jr., 78, of 3929 Ninth Ave., Parkersburg, died at his residence Thursday evening. He was born in Grafton, a son of the late George and Ollie Fisher Austin. He was a member of the St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. He was retired from the B&O Railroad after 49 years as a car inspector, was a member of the Brotherhood Railway Carman Association, and the Association of Retired Persons. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Rowan Austin; a son, Charles J. Austin of Parkersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Lamb of Parkersburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Warner of Bluffton, Ohio, Marjorie M. Austin of Morgantown; two brothers, King E. Austin of New Hampshire, and Carl B. Austin of Grafton. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Services will be Monday, 2:30 p.m., at the Vaughan Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Roth officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday.
