Marjorie J. Austin, 80, of 31 Pahlhurst Plaza, Parkersburg, formerly of 3929 Ninth Ave., died Friday morning in St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Mabie, Randolph County, W. Va., a daughter of the late Wellington M. and Mary J. Johnson Rowan. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and retired from Standard Furniture Co., Fairmont, W. Va. She was a member of the VFW Post 269 Auxiliary, Fairmont, where she was a recipient of the degree of honor. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 14, Parkersburg, and received the order of the 35th Star of West Virginia. She is survived by one son, Charles J. Austin of Parkersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Lamb of Parkersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Virginia) Holbert of Fairmont, Mrs. Harry (Betty) Myers of Toledo, Ohio, and Mrs. Charles (Bernadine) Swisher of New Symra Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George "June" Austin, Jr., in 1982; one sister, one brother, one infant son and infant daughter. Services will be Monday, 2:30 p.m., at the Vaughan Funeral Home with the Rev. William Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today, all day Sunday and until service time Monday, where Eastern Star memorial services will be Sunday, 7 p.m.
