Mrs. Ida G. Haas, Holmes County Native, Stricken
Mrs. Ida G. Haas, 79, died in the hospital at Hicksville, O., Sunday after a six-month illness. She had been in the hospital four weeks.
She was born July 7, 1864, in Holmes county, the daughter of George W. and Elizabeth Nowels. In 1907 she married Samuel Haas. She lived most of her life in Coshocton and Holmes counties, and in Hicksville since 1923.
She is survived by her husband and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Cora Meadow, Mrs. Florence Engle and Sylvanus Nowels of Hicksville, G.P. Nowels of Warsaw, Marvin Nowels of California and Truman Nowels of Nebraska. Mrs. Haas was the first in a family of seven to die, and the youngest of her brothers and sisters is 69.
Funeral services will be held at the Fischer funeral home in Warsaw Wednesday at 2 p.m. (EWT) in charge of Rev. B. P. Angle. Burial will be in Valley View cemetery.

Ida Ginevra Nowels was born July 7, 1864 at Killbuck, Ohio. She grew up on the family farm in Holmes County, Ohio.
Ida married Samuel Haas on December 31, 1907 in Holmes County.
Samuel and Ida farmed in Holmes County but moved to Eastern Indiana to farm about 1912. Later they bought a farm near Hicksville, Ohio where they farmed until her death on May 29, 1943.
Samuel and Ida had no children. They were both members of the United Brethren Church in Hicksville, Ohio.
