Mrs. Samantha Frances York Griffin, died last Friday, April 19, at the home of her son, Roy Griffin, Estesburg.

The daughter of the late Joseph F. York and Adaline (Griffin) Napier York, she was born Aug. 8, 1873. She married Virgil Griffin December 21, 1893, and 10 children were born to this union. Mr. Griffin preceded her in death in 1933.

A devoutly Christian woman, Mrs. Griffin united with the Church of Christ at an early age. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Estesburg Church of Christ.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Suttle, and Mrs. Nora Eubank, Estesburg, Mrs. Lela Floyd and Mrs. Mattie Back Flynn, both of Somerset, and Mrs. Maggie Reynolds of Covington, KY., five sons, James, Ansel, and Mitchell Griffin all of Eubank, Jess and Roy Griffin, both of Estesburg.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Annie J. Dye, Norman, Okla., and Mrs. Margaret E. York, Connersville, Ind.; 45 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday in the Estesburg Church of Christ with Allen Phy officiating. Burial was in the Griffin Cemetery at Estesburg.
