James F. "Jim" Griffin, 87, Eubank, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Parkview Hospital, Nashville, Tenn.
Born March 11, 1896, in Estesburg, he was a son of the late Virgil and Samantha York Griffin.
He married Monta Lee Ashley on Jan. 19, 1921. She preceded him in death April 14, 1973.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Max Dean Haught (Joy), Nashville Tenn.; three brothers, Mitchell Griffin and Jess Griffin both of Eubank, and Roy Griffin, Estesburg; four sisters, Bertha Suttle, Estesburg, Lela Floyd and Mattie Flynn, both of Somerset, and Maggie Reynolds, Covington; and two grandchildren.
One brother, Ansel Griffin, and a sister, Nora Eubanks, preceded him in death.
He was a farmer, a member of Freedom Christian Church and a World War I veteran.
Services were held Friday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at Freedom Christian Church with Jeff Griffin and E.V. Carrier officiating.
Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
