MRS. AUGUST INGWERSEN RITES HELD MARCH 14TH
OLIN - Mrs. August Ingwersen, 63, Maquoketa, former Olin resident, died Wednesday, March 11, at the Jackson county hospital, Maquoketa. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14,at the First Lutheran church, Maquoketa. Rev. F. Kumpf officiated. Brief services for the immediate family was held Saturday morning at the Haylock-O'Hara mortuary. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery, Wyoming.

Pallbearers were Lloyd Ray, Maquoketa, Howard Edwards, Anamosa, Leo and Lyle Ahrendsen, Wyoming; Duane Sarby, Waterloo and Derl Sarby, Des Moines.
Life Outlined
Hilda A. was born June 15, 1895, daughter of Dorathea Rohwedder Ahrendsen and Hans C. Ahrendsen, in Jones county. She spent her childhood in the Olin and Hale vicinity, attending the rural schools in that area.
She was married Jan 7, 1920,to August Ingwersen, Wyoming. Four daughters were born to the union, one of whom died in infancy.
Early years of their marriage were spent farming in the Wyoming and Onslow communities. In 1930 they moved to Anamosa. From Anamosa they moved to Wyoming where they lived until 1944 the couple moved to Olin in 1944. In 1951 couple moved to Maquoketa where they lived at present.
Mrs. Ingwersen was baptized and confirmed into membership in Zion Lutheran church, Wyoming, 1937. Later membership was transferred to St John Lutheran church, Olin, and at the time of her death she was a member of the First Lutheran church, Maquoketa.
She was a member of the societies of the Wyoming and Olin congregations during her membership there. She was a former member of the Sunshine club, Olin.
Survivors Named
Survivors include her husband, three daughters, Doris, Mrs. C.E. Hartwig, Olin; Carmen, Mrs. Roy G. Miehe, Jr., Dubuque; and Mary Ann, Mrs. Ronald Paulsen, Scotch Grove. Six grandsons and one granddaughter
Other survivors include two sister, Mrs. Margaret Starry and Mrs. Dean Sarby, Olin, and four brothers, Leonard and Arthur Ahrendsen, Wyoming; Carl Ahrendsen, Olin and Hans Ahrendsen, Cleveland, Ohio.
