Services were held Sunday, Dec. 17, for Anita Sarby, 72l who died Friday, Dec. 15, at Anamosa.
The Rev. Fred Richardson officiated at the 2 p.m. services at Hayden's funeral home in Olin. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.
Mrs. Sarby was born Feb. 21, 1906 the daughter of Hans and Dorothea Rohwedder Ahrendsen near Olin. On Jan 24, 1924, she married Dean Sarby at Anamosa.
The couple farmed near Olin over 25 years and had lived in Olin since that time. Mrs. Sarby was a member of the Phthian Sisters for over 25 yers and was a charter member of the Happy Hour club. She attended the Olin school.
She is survived by two sons, Duane of Chicago, and Derl of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Deana) Padgett of El Paso, Tex.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Ahrendsen of Olin and Arthur Ahrendsen of Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers were John Moreland, Clifford Taylor, Charles Hahn, Leo Ahrendsen, Lyle Ahrendsen and Donald Stary.
