Services were held Oct 11 for Carl V. Ahrendsen, 87, in the Hayden Funeral Hone, Olin, with burial at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Edward Peterson officiated at the services.
Carl V. Ahrendsen, Olin, died Oct 9 in the Mechanicsville Care Center.
Mr. Ahrensden was born Sept. 20, 1896, the son of Hans and Dorthea Rohwedder Ahrendsen in Hale Township. He was educated in rural school and attended business college in Cedar Rapids. He then returned home and farmed with his mother until 1923.
He worked in a meat market for several years and was later employed at the rock quarry east of Olin until retirement in 1965. Mr. Ahrendsen then worked in the veterinarian's office until entering the care center in 1982.
Surviving him are his brother Arthur Ahrendsen of Wyoming and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by this parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Casketbearers were Lyle Ahrendsen, Derl Sarby, Howard Edwards, Ronald Paulsen, Andrew Pettit and Leo Ahrendsen.
