Ella Mae Schmerbauch was married to John F. Prendiville on Oct 26, 1945, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He died on Jan. 17, 1993. She is survived by four children: Maureen, Margaret, John, Jr., and Joseph. She is also survived by sisters Viola and Dorothy; brothers Erwin, Jack, and Robert; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded by her parents, Charles and Julia (Sutton) Schmerbauch, two sisters, Pauline Lewis and Blanch Nix, and six brothers, Charles, Marcus, Joseph, Daniel, Arthur, and Eugene.
Ella worked at Granite City Depot (Illinois) as a clerk typist after she graduated from McCray-Dewey High School in 1944. Ella was in the US Navy from 1944-45. She studied nursing and received her LPN license in 1948. She worked at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, MA, for several years.
In 1975, she and her husband moved to Ocala, Florida, where they had a horse farm.
