Chuck worked for Edmund Petry on a farm south of Troy, IL, before he joined the US Air Force in 1941. He spent time in Europe and Japan and at several air bases in the US. He retired in 1961 as a Master Sergeant. He then lived and worked in Arizona at the White Water Dam Project in Phoenix and later for the University in Tempe, AZ, until his retirement.
He is survived by a daughter, Diane; six brothers, Arthur, Roy, Erwin, Eugene, John, and Robert; and five sisters, Pauline, Ella, Blanch, Viola and Dorothy.
Besides his wife, who died on July 22, 1993, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Daniel, Joseph, and Marcus Schmerbauch.
